CWCPT Series Cryogenic Grinder Machine
CWCPT series cryogenic mills use liquid nitrogen to cool materials before and during grinding, preventing low-melting materials from softening and enabling finer particle sizes. They are suitable for polymers—including engineering resins, rubber, and adhesives—as well as pharmaceuticals and food-grade materials. The series includes both laboratory-scale cryogenic mills for R&D testing and large-scale systems for mass production.
The complete deep cryogenic grinding system consists of a feeding bin, mechanical mill, induced-draft fan, cyclone, vibrating sieve, and liquid nitrogen tank. During grinding, the cold source forms a closed-loop system that maximizes energy use and reduces consumption. The medium can reach temperatures as low as -196°C and can be adjusted according to the brittleness point of each material. The final particle size typically ranges from 50–400 mesh. Using liquid nitrogen ensures ultra-low-temperature grinding that prevents oxidation, explosion hazards, and material degradation.
Application
This low-temperature grinding system is designed for materials that cannot be pulverized at room temperature. It is widely used in chemical, petrochemical, machinery, marine, automotive, electronics, textile, coatings, printing, engineering plastics, rubber, footwear, thermoplastics (TPU, TPEE), nylon (PA11, PA1010, PA12, PA6, PA66, PA610), polyester, PTFE, EVA, as well as food products (e.g., chili powder) and both Western and Chinese pharmaceuticals.
Working Principle
The system uses liquid nitrogen as the cooling medium and pulverizes materials based on their brittleness at low temperatures. Once the embrittled material enters the grinding chamber, high-speed impellers break it down through repeated impact, collision, shearing, and friction between the material and the grinding components. After classification and collection, oversized particles are returned for regrinding. Most of the cooling air is also recycled for efficiency.
We also offer laboratory-scale cryogenic grinders for customers who are beginning small-batch production.
